Certis Biologicals Turns up the Power With New Kocide Product
Certis Biologicals has launched the newest copper product in the market, Kocide® 50DF (copper hydroxide). Kocide 50DF enters the market with the same proven efficacy that growers have relied upon for generations, but in a high-load formulation that brings the power of Kocide to more growers who need solutions to protect their crops effectively and sustainably.
Kocide 50DF is available now for use in IPM programs for citrus and specialty crop growers in every U.S. state through major input distributors and retailers. The high-load copper biofungicide can serve as both a preventative and curative product to combat a variety of fungal plant diseases, including blight, anthracnose, crown, canker, phytophthora and rot.
“We know that growers have trusted Kocide for generations to protect their crops and their livelihoods,” says Amy O’Shea, President & CEO. “Because of the addition of Kocide 50DF as a high-load copper, our Kocide portfolio is now the comprehensive set of copper tools that any grower needs to protect their crops and the environments in which they grow.”
The new formulation mixes with low dust residue, is easy to pour and disperses into the mix solution quickly, producing even coverage during application. Because of the quick dissolution, growers can expect fewer clog issues during mix with Kocide 50DF. Applied through standard foliar application methods at a low rate, Kocide 50DF is one of the strongest high-load copper products in the market.
“Not only is Kocide 50DF a strong, high-load product, but it’s produced in the U.S. using recycled copper sourced domestically,” says Rob Gibson, Global Portfolio Manager. “Because of this, growers can feel good about this product and its ability to add value to the sustainability goals of their operations.”
The new Kocide 50DF joins legacy products Kocide® 3000-O and Kocide® 2000-O. The brand carries distinction as one of the most highly regarded and proven solutions that growers trust to protect a wide range of crops ranging from tree nuts and citrus to fruits and vegetables.
