Watch Citrus Achievement Award Winners Take on Tough Topics
June 29, 2020 Celebrating citrus and those that work in the sector is at the heart of the Florida Citrus Industry Annual Conference held by Florida Citrus Mutual in Bonita Springs. This year’s event, including the banquet where the Citrus Achievement Award winner is recognized, was upended by the coronavirus. Rising to that challenge, Florida Grower magazine recently hosted a special webinar presentation highlighting the 2020 Citrus Achievement Award winner and three past winners taking on hot topics of the day.
During the hour-long presentation sponsored by UPL, panel members Steven Callaham of Dundee Citrus Growers Association; Bob Behr of Florida’s Natural Growers’ Jim Snively of Southern Gardens; and Mike Sparks of Florida Citrus Mutual discussed in detail issues ranging from the coronavirus crisis, foreign markets, new varieties, living with HLB, and more with Florida Grower Editor Frank Giles.
This year’s Citrus Achievement Award presentation went virtual due to coronavirus. The webinar platform allowed participants ample time to talk shop and inspire ideas.
