Latest Florida Orange Crop Outlook Puts Brakes On Downward Roll — For Now
According to a poll taken after last month’s Florida citrus crop estimate, 90% of respondents said they thought the 2014-2015 Florida orange count will fall below 100 million boxes. The survey’s skeptics will have to wait at least one more month as USDA’s latest 2014-2015 all orange outlook remains at 102 million boxes.
Early, midseason, Navel, and Temple varieties held at 47 million boxes as did Valencia production at 55 million boxes.
While oranges maintained, Florida grapefruit production outlook took a hit, dropping from 15 million boxes to 13 million boxes.
The projection for frozen concentrated orange juice was lowered slightly from 1.55 to 1.54 gallons per box.
