Corn Herbicide From Syngenta Receives EPA Registration

Designed to tackle tough weeds, Syngenta’s Acuron Flexi features three active ingredients, including bicyclopyrone, and two modes of action to deliver a multi-targeted approach to control weeds. Bicyclopyrone provides burndown plus residual, which delivers improved and more consistent control of large-seeded broadleaf weeds in corn.

The herbicide is registered in field corn, seed corn, silage corn, sweet corn (pre-emergence only) and yellow popcorn (pre-emergence only).

“With glyphosate weed resistance expanding, growers need a robust product that can be used across different geographies and soil types,” said Gordon Vail, technical product lead, Syngenta. “Acuron Flexi delivers the flexibility growers need by allowing for application from 28 days pre-plant up to 30-inch corn.”

According to Syngenta, what makes this herbicide so unique is its geographic, application, tank-mix, rotational, and corn-crop flexibility. Acuron Flexi will be able to be used without geographic or soil type restrictions and can be mixed with AAtrex, Touchdown, or other herbicides based on farming practices.
