FDA To hold public meetings on food safety rules

FDA has released public meetings on the proposed produce rule and preventive control rules as part of the Food Safety Modernization Act in Washington, DC, Chicago, IL, and Portland, OR.

The dates for public meetings in Washington, DC, are:

  • Feb. 28, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • March 1, 8:30 a.m. to noon

The meetings will be held in Jefferson Auditorium, USDA, 14th and Independence Avenue, SW, Wing 5 Entrance, Washington, DC. To register for the Washington, DC, public meetings visit: http://www.ppleventreg.com/FDA-FoodSafety-DC/

The dates for public meetings in Chicago are:

  • March 11, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • March 12, 8:30 a.m. to noon

The dates for public meetings in Portland are:

The meetings will to discuss the proposed food safety rules, solicit public comments about the proposed rules, to inform attendees on the rule making process, and respond to questions about the proposed rules.
