After the leafy greens industry took extensive steps to prevent another outbreak following last spring’s deadly Yuma-AZ-linked romaine E. coli scare, the CDC announced a new multistate outbreak is occurring.
The multistate outbreak of the Cyclosporiasis parasite adds to public anxiety around romaine lettuce, which was at the center of other foodborne illnesses recently.

Unlike the recent fatal E. coli outbreak linked to Yuma, AZ-grown romaine, the CDC was able to link the outbreak to a source quickly and issue a recall.
