Judge Upholds Lawsuit Filed By California Strawberry Commission

Following a ruling by Alameda Superior Court Judge George Hernandez Jr., a lawsuit filed by the California Strawberry Commission remains, according to a news story in the Modesto Bee.

The commission’s lawsuit accuses the University of California (UC)-Davis of scrapping a research relationship that has spawned more than a dozen varieties of strawberries consumed around the world. The UC-Davis-bred varieties account for approximately half the strawberries grown in the state.
