Biopesticide and Fungicide Debuts at Biocontrols USA West
Seipasa, a company specializing in the formulation, development, and marketing of botanical-based solutions (biopesticides, biostimulants, and fertilizers), debuted the new biopesticide, Seican, in the U.S. at the BiocontrolsSM USA West Conference in March, where the latest trends concerning biological pest control are unveiled.
Seican is a new fungicide and insecticide for pest control and diseases. Developed from an exclusive formulation of botanical-based substances, Seican provides a powerful knock-down effect against a large number of species of powdery mildew, botrytis, insects, and mites. Plus, it boasts a multi-site mode of action.
“Seican provides a curative action that prevents the spread of fungi,” José Ángel Talavera, CCO of Seipasa, says. “As a fungicide, Seican breaks down the sporulation and causes fungus dehydration, causing the disappearance of leaf symptoms.”
Talavera says Seican can penetrate the body of insects and mites to cause a dehydration and death.
“The product presents a very high efficacy in each and every target. In addition, due to its novel multi-site mode of action, Seican does not generate resistances.” Talavera says.
Seican also has an Organic Materials Review Institute certificate for use in organic production systems. In addition, the phytosanitary certificate for the United States market will be available in the coming months.
