Time is Ripe for Michigan Spring Peach Meeting

Michigan State University Extension will host the annual Michigan Spring Peach Meeting on March 5 at the Southwest Michigan Research and Extension Center in Benton Harbor. This one-day meeting, presented by Michigan State University and Michigan Peach Sponsors, to learn about all aspects of peaches and peach growing. Attendees will be eligible for credits toward their recertification of their Michigan pesticide applicators license.

Topics at this conference include managing invasive insects such as spotted wing drosophila and Oriental fruit moth, new fungicides, disease control including bacterial spot, new orchard establishment methods, tree training, and new peach varieties.

Deadline for early registration is Feb. 25. Early registration is $45 per person or $35 for current Michigan Peach Sponsor members. Registration information is available online. On-site registration will begin at 8 a.m. on March 5.
