Wildfires Rage on California Wine Country
California continues to burn red hot with new wildfires eating up everything in their path. Up to this point, farm acres had been largely spared. The Glass Fire though is turning up the heat on wine country in the famed Napa Valley.
Gov. Gavin Newsom issued an emergency proclamation for the counties of Napa, Sonoma, and Shasta due to the Glass and Zogg fires, which have burned tens of thousands of acres, destroyed homes and critical infrastructure, and caused the evacuation of tens of thousands of residents. Newsom also sent a letter to the President requesting a Presidential Major Disaster Declaration to assist state and local wildfire response and recovery efforts in the counties of Fresno, Los Angeles, Madera, Mendocino, San Bernardino, San Diego, and Siskiyou.

Dozens of wineries are reported to be in the line of fire amid evacuation zones. First-person accounts and images from the field continue to filter in as first responders attempt to get a handle on the wildfire incidents.
