New Utility Vehicles Step It up Down on the Farm
May 21, 2021 Utility vehicles have become increasingly important in agricultural operations. They come in handy when completing various jobs around the farm. And they are fun to play on in downtime.
Here’s a look at the latest utility vehicles (UTVs) from John Deere and Kubota.
John Deere XUV835R Gator
This crossover utility vehicle comes with a three-person cab with heating and air conditioning. Easier shifting with integrated park position and an electronic switch for instant 4WD engagement. It has improved power steering for smoother operation.
The machine is powered by a 54 horsepower 3-cylinder engine with dual overhead cams, is liquid-cooled, and has a four-cycle gasoline engine. It produces 6.5 kgm (47 pound-foot) of torque at 3200 rpm. The advanced electronic controls and fuel-injection system deliver good starting, idling, and throttle response during operation.
The Gator XUV Crossover Series Utility Vehicle has a precision-engineered drivetrain system that fully utilizes engine power, optimizing acceleration, hauling, towing, and hill-climbing capabilities. Power is transmitted from the engine through a continuously variable clutch system to the transaxle.
A dual A-arm front and rear suspension provides a smooth ride over challenging terrain and excellent hauling characteristics. The entire suspension system has been optimized to handle cargo without compromising ride quality or vehicle stability.

Kubota RTV-X1140
This vehicle sports the Kubota K-Vertible cargo conversion system that allows set up for two passengers and a large cargo bed or four passengers and a cargo bed. It makes it easy to switch from crew to cargo.
The RTV-X1140 has a 24.8 horsepower, liquid-cooled diesel engine. With convenient tilt steering and simple inline shifting, the RTV-X1140 has a Variable Hydraulic Transmission that offers a wide torque band and large oil cooler that boost performance and durability. Front and rear independent suspension on all four wheels ensures a smooth ride, enhancing drivability and handling in most off-road conditions. And Kubota raised the bar on ground clearance with the new RTV-X1140, offering a full 10.8 inches of suspension travel with the ability to glide over bumps and rugged terrain.
