2016 Organic Agriculture Research Meeting Is Planned
Organic Farming Research Foundation (OFRF) is pleased to announce joint sponsorship of the 2016 Organic Agriculture Research Symposium (OARS) along with Kearney Agricultural Research and Extension (KARE) Center.
Supported through a grant from the USDA Organic Research Education Initiative (OREI) program, the symposium will be a pre-conference event at the 36th Annual EcoFarm Conference, the longest-running organic and sustainable farming conference in North America.
“We were thrilled to receive this USDA grant, which will give us the opportunity to facilitate the sharing of research and inspire the growth of organic farming,” Brice Tencer, OFRF Executive Director, said. “The symposium will feature researchers from all disciplines related to organic farming and food systems.”
The grant OFRF received is part of $21 million in organic research and extension funding announced by the USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) on Oct. 13. The funding supports research and outreach projects that will help growers, producers, and processors improve their organic operations.
