NatureSweet Set To Grow Big in New Arizona Greenhouse Facility
Texas-based produce powerhouse NatureSweet has added another location to its greenhouse portfolio. This time in Arizona. The company has begun planting and growing produce in Bonita, AZ. NatureSweet plans to hire about 250 agricultural workers over the next three years and invest more than $5 million in the facility alone.
Investment in the Arizona facility marks the expansion of growing operations into the U.S. for the North America brand, well known for growing tomatoes, cucumbers, and peppers. NatureSweet celebrated a recent ribbon cutting alongside local officials and community leaders.
“Choosing Arizona to plant our seeds is more than just a strategic decision, it’s a commitment to innovation, collaboration, and the incredible opportunities that the state offers,” says Rodolfo Spielmann, President & CEO of NatureSweet. “We look forward to contributing to the area’s dynamic landscape and growing a successful future together. We are just starting.”
NatureSweet will start Arizona operations by growing D’Vines, flavorful cherry tomatoes that are harvested and packaged on-the-vine. The company plans to then expand to other conventional and organic products throughout the more than 44 acres of greenhouse space at the Bonita facility. The greenhouse leader’s more than five-million-dollar investment will stimulate economic growth in a rural, underserved area of southern Arizona, fostering sustainable development and opportunities for local communities.
With facilities now in Mexico and Arizona, NatureSweet is the largest controlled environment agriculture (CEA) company in the world to be B Corp Certified, Fair Trade Certified, and EFI Certified. The company directly employs 6,000 company Associates.
