Copper Fungicide
Nordox 75 WG Copper Fungicide from Brandt Specialty Formulations Division and Brandt/Monterey is a highly effective, protective fungicide known for its high level of efficacy, high purity, small particle size, and rainfastness. Nordox 75 WG is also a key component of a total integrated management plan. Nordox coppers are manufactured in Norway under the strictest environmental standards from the highest grade copper sources. Nordox (cuprous oxide) is the smallest particle size of any copper formulation and is one of the key factors in good disease control. Nordox 75 WG also has a superior retention value as a result of particle size, but also a result of the cupric oxide formulation that has a far stronger positive charge, allowing it to more strongly adhere to the leaf or plant surface. The small particle size and engineered shape of cuprous oxide allow for these advanced properties. Copper fungicides are utilized as preventive chemistry, so maintaining a copper barrier and reservoir on leaf surface is pivotal during these moisture events for successful prevention of bacterial and fungal diseases. Nordox 75 WG has proven itself in the field on
a variety of crops from coast to coast.

Compact Orchard Mowers
Van Wamel B.V. in Beneden-Leeuwen, manufacturer of the “Perfect” mowers, flail choppers, and grading equipment, has introduced a series of rotary mowers. The series of TKF front-mounted rotary mowers are specially designed for their short and compact construction and are fitted very close to the tractor to limit the turning radius at the end of the row. They are equipped with four cutting blades. The two lefthand blades turn to the left (counterclockwise) and the two righthand blades to the right (clockwise). This provides a clean cut and an excellent distribution of the cut material to the rear or to the lefthand and the righthand side of the dive track, on both sides on the tree strips. The standard configuration includes a universal gearbox that accepts both clockwise and counterclockwise rotations of the tractor PTO. The TKF models are available with cutting widths of 200 centimeters (6 feet, 7 inches) and 230 cm (7 feet, 7 inches).

Biological Fungicide
Actinovate AG from Natural Industries is a high concentration of patented beneficial bacteria on a 100% water-soluble powder. Applied as a drench, this new product effectively controls/suppresses soilborne diseases like Pythium, Phytophthora, Fusarium, and Rhizoctonia. When used as a foliar spray, Actinovate controls/suppresses a variety of foliar diseases including powdery mildew, Botrytis, and Monilinia. What makes Actinovate AG work is the high concentration of the microorganism Streptomyces lydicus strain WYEC 108. When introduced into the root zone or applied to foliage, this microbe colonizes and grows around the structure of the plant. While settling in the foliage of the root’s rhizosphere, the Actinovate microbe forms a synergetic relationship, feeding off of the plant’s waste materials while secreting beneficial and protective by-products. Actinovate AG can be used as a drench, liquid feed, irrigation, spray, or similar application. Compatible with fungicides, insecticides, fertilizers, and biological stimulants, the product will not clog machinery. Actinovate AG is also OMRI-listed and approved for organic agriculture production.
