4 New Tractors To Keep Your Farm On Track
On a farm, time is money. Having the right equipment is essential to get any job done efficiently. To ensure that, today’s technological advances are being put to use in making heavy metal workhorses perform at levels beyond imagination.
Check out four recent farm tractor releases from several leading manufacturers.
2700E Series
The new 2700E Series from Massey Ferguson, a global brand of AGCO Corp., is designed to tackle many rear implement jobs, including rotary cutting, box blading, rotary tilling, posthole digging, and more. Powered by low-maintenance, 2.2 liter, four-cylinder liquid-cooled diesel engines, this utility tractor achieves Tier 4 compliance with external-cooled exhaust gas recirculation and diesel oxidation catalyst without the need for a diesel particulate filter. Similar to the systems found on the most modern large tractors and other diesel-powered machines, this utility tractor’s engine uses electronically controlled high-pressure, common-rail injection, and turbo-charging technology to increase power and fuel efficiency.
Optimum
A multipurpose workhorse, the Optimum series from Case IH features the necessary horsepower for high-volume forage operations, plus enough muscle for larger tillage tools and planters. With power take-off (PTO) horsepower ranging from 240 to 270, the tractor series delivers big-iron power, performance, comfort, and fuel-saving continuously variable transmission.
6E Series
A new line of multipurpose tractors have been added to John Deere’s portfolio of products. The 6E Series tractors offer essentials in an economical package, including comfort and visibility for the operator, more transmission options, and new stackable selective control valves. The three 6E Series tractors range from 105, 120, and 135 horsepower. In addition, an optional air seat with a new 15-degree swivel adds comfort and improved rear visibility.
M5-Series
Kubota Tractor Corp.’s new M5-Series represents the company’s most versatile utility tractor series to date. The series offers two models (the M5-091 and M5-111) both available with two- or four-wheel-drive. The M5-Series features the Ultra Grand Cab II that boasts expanded space, enhanced visibility, and an ergonomically designed control panel. The M5-091 and M5-111 are equipped with four-cylinder, turbocharged 76 and 89 PTO horsepower Kubota engines respectively. These rugged and efficient tractors combine Kubota’s diesel particulate filter with selective catalytic reduction technologies for an exceptionally clean operation plus total compliance with EPA’s Tier 4 final emission regulations.
