ATVs And UTVs Part V
The first ATVs and UTVs on the market were two-wheel-drive units. Early on manufacturers began offering four-wheel drive in ATVs, and as UTVs became more popular they too became available in four-wheel-drive models.
The four-wheel-drive units are particularly useful in hilly or wet conditions because they can operate in those conditions. The two-wheel-drive units cannot. Bear in mind, though, the four-wheel-drive vehicles have higher costs than their two-wheel-drive counterparts. They are more expensive initially because of the additional mechanical complexity of the four-wheel-drive system and will have higher repair costs for the same reason.
