Gold Coin is a very flat, yellow variety, that matures to a medium-small, yellow cipollini onion. Onions average 1 to 1/2-3 inches in diameter by 3/4-1 inch in depth. It is pungent and sweet, stores well, and is deliciously sweet when cooked. It's recommended for latitudes of 38°-60°, as the necks may be too thick at lower latitudes.
