Taylor Farms Honored For Food Protection
DuPont Nutrition & Health recently hosted the 12th annual Food Quality Award reception and ceremony, honoring Taylor Farms of Salinas, CA, for their commitment to food safety and quality.
More than 300 food industry professionals attended the gala event during the 2013 Food Safety Summit in Baltimore, MD. David Charest, global leader for antimicrobials at DuPont Nutrition & Health, served as the evening’s emcee and co-presented the award with Marian Zboraj, editor of Food Quality magazine.
“Global food security is a major focus at DuPont,” said Charest, “and in support of that, we are proud to recognize outstanding achievements by food companies such as Taylor Farms in promoting a culture of food safety and quality throughout their business.”
Mark Borman, president, and Jason Kawata, director of quality assurance, accepted the award for Taylor Farms, sharing a video that highlighted some of the award-winning practices that have helped them become North America’s largest supplier of fresh produce to the food service industry.
“Food safety is a top priority and the driving force in all we do at Taylor Farms,” said Borman. “With the most advanced fresh cut processing plants in the world, combined with our investments in state-of-the-art processing facilities, our customers know they can trust us to provide fresh, safe, and high-quality produce.”
Prior to the award presentation, Olivier Mignot, vice president of quality management for Nestlé USA, presented a keynote address that described his company’s focus on consumer trust and how employee actions at all levels are key to maintaining the Nestlé brand promise.
